New Role for Dr. Vollmer and SEU Ohio Welcomes Kayla Turner

I’m reaching out to today to share an important announcement regarding some transition within our SEU Ohio team. In September 2023, Dr. Tom Vollmer, shared that the Lord was leading him to step away from his role as the Education Director of SEU Ohio. In this role, he has provided oversight of not only SEU Ohio but also the Ohio School of Ministry. During

Dr. Vollmer’s tenure, SEU Ohio hit record enrollment with more than one hundred students taking courses for credit. Additionally, SEU Ohio has experienced strong growth among high school students participating in College Credit Plus with SEU Ohio. Dr. Vollmer will remain a part of our SEU family as a member of our faculty. Additionally, he will also retain his role with the Ohio Ministry Network as the director of the Ohio School of Ministry. We’re deeply grateful to Dr. Vollmer for the investment he’s made into our campus community, and we’re delighted that he will continue to be a valued member of SEU Ohio as a member of our faculty.

Since notifying us of his desire to transition in his role, Dr. Vollmer has generously given our board and Ohio Ministry Network leadership the time needed to discern who will best fit in the role of Campus Director to ensure the best and smoothest transition in this role.

We are thrilled to announce that we have selected Kayla Turner to serve as the SEU Ohio Campus Director. In this role, Turner will provide oversight to the day-to-day operation of SEU Ohio, leading our campus staff, and investing in the lives of students. Kayla joins our team having served for several years at the main campus of SEU in Lakeland, Florida as a faculty member. Kayla also brings the experience of leading an SEU extension site and on the pastoral team of several local churches. Kayla is married to her husband, Caleb, and has two beautiful daughters. We are incredibly excited to welcome them into our campus community.

We again offer our deep thanks to Dr. Vollmer for his capable leadership, and we welcome Kayla to the team. We know the best days for SEU Ohio continue to be ahead.
