New to SEU Ohio for the 2025-2026 academic year is Southeastern University's 2-year Pre-Nursing degree program. Students interested in pursuing a nursing career can enroll to complete the Associate of Arts (AA) in Pre-Nursing as a preliminary step toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The AA in Pre-Nursing is equivalent to the first two years of a 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. It is the perfect choice for a student who wants to begin their nursing preparation in a Christ-centered university that emphasizes servant-based leadership and compassion for the sick and hurting.

Courses include general education classes, foundational mathematics and science courses for the nursing field, and a pre-nursing internship. Students can take classes online, and some foundational core classes may be available at SEU Ohio to be taken in-person with SEU Ohio faculty. Students who successfully complete the 2-year AA in Pre-Nursing can apply to Southeastern University's BSN program for years three and four (available in Lakeland, Florida), or they can use their Associate degree to apply to other BSN programs at colleges and universities in Ohio and beyond.

Rev. Kayla Turner, SEU Ohio campus director, is thrilled to adopt the new nursing degree program. "For years, we were not able to help students get started in the nursing field. Now we have an option that helps them grow in their academics as well as in their spiritual formation to serve populations in need of the hope and help of God." SEU nursing graduates are known for their work ethic, servanthood, leadership, and compassionate care. Notes Turner, "This degree program is available to Ohio high school students through the Ohio College Credit Plus program. A high school student could complete SEU Ohio's AA in Pre-Nursing by the time they graduate from high school and be only two years away from a bachelor's degree in nursing. Think of the cost savings!"
