Each year, Ohio Youth Ministries hosts a special weekend for youth who feel they are called to serve in some aspect of ministry today and in the future. That calling may be to a future pastorate, to missions, or to serve Christ in various ways and professions, such as teaching, counseling, and serving in humanitarian initiatives. Just as God called Samuel to serve him when Samuel was just a boy living in the temple, so God is still calling and directing our young people today (1 Samuel 3).
Called Weekend is an annual event for 7th-12th grade students to support and empower them in their developing call and to connect them with other students who are on a similar path. Called Weekend takes place at Heartland Conference Retreat Center, the home of SEU Ohio, on Friday and Saturday, March 7 & 8. Students (9th-12th grade) who may be interested in taking classes through SEU Ohio in college or while in high school are invited to come to SEU Ohio one day early on Thursday evening, March 6 for a Called campus visit. These students will attend a special Chapel service Thursday evening, stay in the SEU Ohio dorm from Thursday through Saturday, and participate in campus events and fun on Friday. Through the Called campus visit, students can learn about degree programs and classes available at SEU Ohio that may help them prepare for a ministry call, grow in their knowledge of God and the Bible, and graduate early with less student loan debt.
There is no cost to attend the SEU Ohio Called campus visit beginning on March 6, however you must register for both the campus visit (March 6 & 7) and Called Weekend (March 7 & 8). SEU Ohio will cover the cost of students who register for both events. SEU Ohio will also give away a scholarship during the Called Weekend event.
