Master of Divinity

Develop your ministerial calling with a comprehensive understanding of the faith.

The Master of Divinity program will prepare you with the understanding and skills necessary to serve in vocational ministry, all with a flexible delivery format that allows you to earn your MDiv when it's convenient for you.

Southeastern University's Master of Divinity (MDiv) program equips students to work in full-time professional ministry, including as pastors, missionaries and military chaplains. Specific topics covered include the Biblical languages (Greek/Hebrew), the Old Testament and New Testament, ecclesiology, systematic theology, pastoral counseling, historical theology, world religions, ethics, philosophy, preaching and leadership. These classes, combined with a practicum, a thesis or an elective, will give you the skills and understanding necessary to gain your ordination credential (for those working in religious denominations which require it) as well as to pursue advanced study in a doctoral program.

The MDiv is offered in a flexible delivery format. Under the guidance of professors with extensive experience in pastoral ministry, missions, and chaplaincy, you will benefit from both the convenience of online learning and the face-to-face interaction of on-campus classes.

This program is offered through the Southeastern University School of Divinity, which is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). The School of Divinity is part of the Barnett College of Ministry & Theology at SEU.
