BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN GLOBAL EDUCATION
The Bachelor of Science in Global Education is a 4-year degree that prepares students to teach in private schools as well as internationally through Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI) accreditation. Courses include survey of teaching methods, instructional design, educational psychology, behavior and classroom management, trauma informed teaching, integrating faith and education, international student teaching, empowering ESOL teachers (teaching English language learners) as well as two foreign language courses. For the foreign language requirement, students can choose two consecutive courses in American Sign Language, Arabic, French, German, Mandarin, Russian, or Spanish.
If you are thinking about missions, education, cross-cultural ministry, international teaching, international business, or teaching in major metro areas, this degree program could be for you! The Global Education degree will be delivered in a hybrid model with both live and online courses that allow a student to live and study anywhere in the state and even travel and work internationally.
By itself, this degree program does not lead to public teaching licensure within the state of Ohio, however we look forward to developing pathways to licensure with the assistance of Southeastern University and the Ohio Department of Higher Education. Licensure may require modifications to the program and/or additional courses. We are committed to growing further opportunities for education majors on our campus in the near future.
